About the event
Grant Smith is an organist and church musician based in Houston, Texas. He is a recent graduate of the organ master's program at Rice University in Houston where he studied with Ken Cowan.
His recent competition successes include Second Prize in the 2025 St Albans Interpretation Competition, Third Prize in the 2024 Leipzig International Bach Competition, First Prize in the 2023 Hall Organ Competition in San Antonio, Texas, and First Prize at the 2022 Feith International Organ Competition in Blieskastel, Germany.
Grant received two bachelor’s degrees in music and civil engineering from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. A two-time winner of the university's concerto competition, he performed as featured soloist with the Cal Poly Symphony both on organ and piano.
Grant is currently organist and pianist at Christ Presbyterian Church in Houston and organist and pianist for the Houston Masterworks Chorus.
