Mural by Harumo Sato

A design by international muralist Harumo Sato has been approved by Palo Alto's Public Arts director, and by All Saints, and is about to be made public. You get to see it first here!

Harumo Sato will be painting our mural over April/May 2026  (if schedules hold and weather permits), and it will take her an estimated five days. Below is a rendering of her joyous, music-filled design on our very large, very blank wall -- the wall facing US Bank. The mural will be eye-catching, even from University Avenue, and will be a great way to welcome Spring.

Harumo Sato, who was born in Japan and lives in Mountain View, has previously completed mural commissions at Google, Meta and MidPen Housing.

“Music – through playing, listening, or movement – serves as a common language, cultivating presence and a sense of connection. Color operates similarly, generating visual rhythm and shaping perception without words,” Sato wrote. “Through vibrancy and repetition, it animates the mural’s surface and invites instinctive responses, much like sound does in music. Experiencing this interplay of music and color creates a sense of lightness and joy.”
